Generative Immersion Chair
Launched in 2023 at the Centre de Gestion Scientifique (CGS) with the support of SNCF Réseau, this chair explores generative immersive technologies and their impact on human behaviour. By combining artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, it is designing innovative solutions to strengthen training, collaboration and innovation in key sectors, paving the way for more inclusive and connected industries.

The Chair
The Generative Immersion Chair is dedicated to exploring immersive environments and their impact on human behaviour. Our aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of generative immersive technologies on individual perception and collective action, with a particular focus on training in industries in transition. We aim to facilitate the transmission of knowledge and know-how within a variety of groups, thereby contributing to the emergence of new models of collaboration and innovation.
By integrating innovative technologies (generative AI, Large Language Model) with training devices based on virtual and augmented reality, we design immersive scenarios that enable companies to strengthen the management of complex knowledge (hard skills, collaborative knowledge, soft skills) and improve their training methods. Our research focuses on the sensory reactions of immersed individuals, studying how sight and hearing contribute to the sensation of ‘presence’ and can influence behaviour in the virtual world and in the real world.
Within the Institut des Transformations Numériques and in collaboration with robotics, computer science, cognitive science and art research laboratories, the Chair team is developing scientifically validated virtual environments tailored to the specific needs of industries in transition, particularly in :
The industrial sector
The services sector
Cultural and creative industries
Team:
Join us on this adventure towards the more inclusive, more immersive and more collaborative industries of tomorrow.
Cédric Dalmasso Director of the CGS and Chairholder
Cédric Dalmasso is Director of the Scientific Management Centre, Mines Paris – PSL. He is Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Agence national d’Amélioration des Conditions de Travail and an elected member of the Board of Directors of PSL University, Chairman of the Orientation Council of the Institut du Travail et du Développement Durable and a member of the Cercle de l’Innovation within the Fondation Paris Dauphine. As a visiting researcher, he has conducted over twenty collaborative research projects and is the author of numerous articles on the link between strategy, organisation and health at work.
Pierre Quesson Post-doctoral student in management science
Pierre Quesson, an engineering graduate of Télécom Paris (2017), has enriched his technical background with a reflective and interdisciplinary dimension. After a degree focusing on financial mathematics, marketing and digital entrepreneurship, he pursued a research master’s degree in political studies at EHESS (2018), exploring themes such as political anthropology and collective decision theory. D. in management sciences at the CGS (2024), integrated into the UMR i3 (CNRS), under the supervision of Cédric Dalmasso and Blanche Segrestin. He is now pursuing his research as a post-doctoral student in management science, focusing on innovation and organisational dynamics.
News from the Chair
Demonstration event with the participation of UCANSS
Collaborative research between Mines Paris – PSL, UCANSS, I4.10 and SNCF Réseau’s Direction Numérique is exploring the effectiveness of generative immersion as a training tool for agents, by simulating complex scenarios of interpersonal interaction with audiences. The aim of this study is to measure the acceptability, comfort and impact of VR on agents’ training experience.
