Sponsorship support is essential to maintain excellence and encourage innovation at Mines Paris – PSL. The Sponsorship Chairs at Mines Paris – PSL aim to promote academic excellence and provide essential reference points for understanding the main trends shaping our times: the ecological transition, digital technology, work and governance, climate change, energy, the circular economy and more.
A Chair is a project led by the École’s research centers, possibly in association with other schools or research organizations, and includes one or more industrial partners. These chairs aim to develop knowledge in emerging fields, conduct cutting-edge research, and foster synergies between academic and industrial partners.
Mines Paris – PSL has created or renewed 39 chairs since 2006, 18 of which are currently active.
News from the 2024 chairs :
- 4th cycle of the “Vinci Environment Research Lab” chair begins
- Start of the 3rd cycle of the “Mines Urbaines” chair
- Launch of the “Filière Textile Responsable” chair
- The “Théorie de l’entreprise” chair, created in 2015, reaches the end of its second cycle
- The “Physical Internet” chair, created in 2016, completes its second cycle

Industrial chairs
An industrial chair, or ANR, is a collaboration between an academic institution (university, school, research institute) and one or more companies. Mines Paris – PSL Industrial Chairs provide a framework for broad scientific developments, while aiming for significant spin-offs for industry. This type of chair aims to bring together the worlds of public research and industry around a common research project.
