Grants and support for incoming mobility
Foreign students admitted to Mines Paris – PSL are eligible for scholarships and financial aid within the limits of the funds available for this purpose.

Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme
Each year, Mines Paris – PSL offers this programme to international students ranked in the top 10% of their course. The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,181 for Master’s level students, round-trip airfare and complementary health insurance (mutuelle).
Excellence scholarship from the Fondation Mines Paris
Every year, Mines Paris Foundation offers around ten scholarships to international students admitted on the basis of academic merit to the civil engineering course. These scholarships include a monthly allowance of €700 for the duration of the course (excluding internships).
Company grants
Mines Paris – PSL has privileged relations with the industrial sector and scholarships may be awarded to international students admitted to the school. Eligibility criteria and scholarship conditions vary according to each programme.
Scholarships from your home country
Many countries offer grants and subsidies for international mobility for their nationals:

- BRAFITEC (Brazil)

Practical information
Before arriving in France
Visa
Visa application procedures vary depending on the student’s country of origin. We recommend that you contact the French Embassy or Consulate in your home country at least 3 months before you leave for France to find out about the visa application procedure and the fees involved.
The procedures for obtaining a residence permit are handled by the school’s admissions department when the student arrives.
Insurance
Insurance for foreign students
Health insurance is compulsory. All students must provide proof of health insurance cover for the duration of their stay at Mines Paris – PSL (European health insurance card, etc.). Health insurance (social security) is free in France for all students. Registration is free and can be done online. International students must also take out civil liability insurance for physical and/or material damage caused by students. This insurance is provided by Mines Paris – PSL.
Housing
For double-degree students: students admitted to the Master’s level of the civil engineering cycle will be allocated a room in the “Maison des Mines” student residence, located less than 10 minutes’ walk from Mines Paris – PSL. The rent is between €200 and €500 per month, plus a 2-month deposit.
Cité internationale universitaire de Paris
For exchange students: exchange students and visiting students can apply for a room at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, but Mines Paris – PSL cannot guarantee them a room.
On arrival in France
Information meetings
International students admitted to the engineering cycle on the basis of merit: a welcome and information meeting (course of studies, administrative procedures, taking charge of the IT account, etc.) is organised at the beginning of September for all second-year students.
Visiting international students: a welcome and information meeting is organised for international students before the start of their course, to give them information on the course of their studies, administrative procedures, taking charge of their IT account, etc.
The student office (BDE) and ASTI? organise welcome and sponsorship activities for students joining the school in September.
Administrative procedures
The Department of Studies and the International Relations Department at Mines Paris – PSL help international students with the administrative formalities they need to complete when they arrive at the school (registering at Mines Paris – PSL, applying for a long-stay student permit, applying for a grant, etc.).
During the academic stay
During your academic stay, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the French way of life, sample French culinary specialities and explore the French regions. On a day-to-day basis, you’ll benefit from an extremely rich student life.
