Jobs for young scientists
The School also recruits young scientists with PhDs or equivalent qualifications for its research activities and to strengthen its strong links with French and foreign companies.

The School is recruiting
- On a fixed-term contract, which may be renewable
- Provides a gross monthly salary ranging from €2,340 to €2,944 (2007 figure)
- Enables them to acquire additional high-level experience in research activities in the École’s laboratories.
Search assistants
The concept of a research assistant serves three purposes:
- ensure the succession of senior lecturers due to retire in the near future, possibly by developing their research themes,
- ensure that recruitment to the school’s research laboratories is as broad-based as possible,
- take on young research professors on a permanent basis after a period of time that allows us to assess their suitability for the school’s teaching-research-innovation model.
Search assistants have the following characteristics:
- They are recruited on the basis of an invitation to tender, which is advertised as widely as possible,
- They are eligible for a permanent teaching/research position after three years at the school.
Recruitment is based on a specific job description, and is carried out by an internal selection board.
Successful candidates have the opportunity to work closely with the business world and participate in their team’s contract research. They are given the opportunity to define a doctoral subject in the first year of their stay at the centre. They are expected to participate in the supervision of the corresponding thesis, directed by a senior member of the centre with an Habilitation to Direct Research.
Other young scientists (post-doc)
Other young scientist positions, by contrast, are not intended to lead to permanent positions at the École, except in special circumstances.
