[Webinar TTI.5] “Deciphering the IPCC scenarios: the challenges of climate forecasting”
The Transition Institute 1.5 is organizing its webinar “Deciphering the IPCC scenarios: the challenges of climate foresight” on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
The Transition Institute 1.5 will be holding its tenth webinar on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The theme of this back-to-school session will be “Deciphering the IPCC scenarios: the challenges of climate foresight”. To take part, simply log on to Zoom.
The 6th Assessment Report of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) will be published between 2021 and 2023. These reports take stock of scientific knowledge on climate change, providing an overview of climate physics (Working Group I), impacts and adaptation (Working Group II) and mitigation solutions (Working Group III). They are based, among other things, on the compilation and processing of several hundred scenarios produced by scientific communities worldwide. Understanding the construction process, the use of these scenarios and their limitations is crucial to their interpretation.
