How can we anticipate the challenges of the energy transition and build a smarter, more sustainable electricity grid?

In this video, Valentin Lignereux, PhD student at the PERSEE Center at Mines Paris – PSL, and Jonathan Dumas, R&D project manager at RTE Réseau de Transport d’Électricité, look back on more than 20 years of strategic collaboration between the School and the French electricity transmission system operator.

Through three key questions, they explain how the alliance between academic research and concrete industrial needs makes it possible to design high value-added solutions for the energy transition. AI-based forecasting tools, federated learning, prescriptive analysis, and deep learning techniques: these innovative approaches help to better integrate renewable energies, anticipate consumption and production, and optimize the management of the electricity system.

The framework agreement signed in 2024 reinforces this long-term dynamic and opens up new prospects for working together to build the electricity grid of tomorrow: more flexible, smarter, and more sustainable.
