Applications now open for the I-BE³ Bachelor’s degree: an international program in science and engineering committed to the environment

At the start of the 2026 academic year, PSL University will launch the International Bachelor of Environmentally Engaged Engineering (I-BE³), a post-baccalaureate program supported by Mines Paris – PSL, ESPCI Paris – PSL, and Chimie ParisTech – PSL.
Taught entirely in English, this bachelor’s degree program trains engineers to tackle major environmental, climate, and societal challenges through immersive, project-based learning.

Innovative, action-oriented teaching

I-BE³ offers a project-based learning experience inspired by Georges Charpak’s “hands-on” approach:

  • Each semester includes a central project focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): energy, water, sustainable cities, climate, health, and responsible industry.
  • Science and engineering courses: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and modeling.
  • Modules on engineering challenges and professional skills, including project management, languages, and personalized support.
  • Mandatory six-month international internship.
  • Access to technological innovation projects.

Key information

  • Duration: 3 years (180 ECTS, 2,000 hours of classes)
  • Language: 100% English (+ French as a foreign language for non-French speakers)
  • Admission: 60 students for the first class, holders of a secondary school diploma in science and motivated by environmental challenges
  • Campus: Sophia Antipolis for semesters 1 to 4, international internship in semester 5, Paris or Sophia Antipolis in semester 6
  • Pace: full-time, 6 engineering, entrepreneurship, or research projects
  • Accreditation: process underway with the CTI for recognition of the Bachelor’s degree in Science and Engineering

Application process

The I-BE³ online application system opened in December 2025 and will remain open until April 30, 2026:

  • Phase 1: December 15, 2025 – February 28, 2026
  • Phase 2: March 1 – April 30, 2026

The application file includes: transcripts, description of the curriculum, ranking, CV, two letters of recommendation, and a cover letter. Language requirements: minimum English level B2, minimum French level A2.
