Programs Built on International Foundations
Mines Paris – PSL places international openness at the core of its academic programs. This approach is driven by several key elements: language learning, academic mobility, international internships and gap years, short programs, and research collaborations with global partners.
As a result, all students benefit from a highly internationalized academic environment, fostering exposure to diverse scientific, cultural, and professional contexts.
A range of academic programs accessible at different levels of study
Mines Paris – PSL welcomes international students each year across all of its academic programs:
International Bachelor I-BE³
International Bachelor of Environmentally Engaged Engineering
This English-taught undergraduate program is designed for students entering higher education. It provides training in science and engineering with a focus on environmental and societal challenges, based on project-driven pedagogy and a strong international dimension.
Civil Engineering Program
The Civil Engineering program welcomes international students each year through dual degree agreements and exchange programs with partner universities. This three-year program enables a progressive specialization aligned with the major fields of engineering.
PSL Master’s programs and international tracks
The School offers several master’s programs within Université PSL, as well as international programs, each with its own admission procedures.
Specialized Master’s programs
Specialized Master’s degrees (Bac+6 level) provide advanced expertise in targeted fields. The “Renewable Energy” program is taught in English and includes a significant proportion of international students.
Doctoral studies
Mines Paris – PSL awards doctoral degrees across a wide range of disciplines, often within international research collaborations (cotutelles, mobility schemes), with a significant share of international PhD candidates.
EELISA: European collaborative education
Mines Paris – PSL participates, through Université PSL, in the EELISA European alliance (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance).
Within this framework, students can enrich their academic journey through:
- International thematic communities bringing together students, faculty, and partners around interdisciplinary projects
- Courses, hybrid modules, and summer schools offered by partner universities

PSL Language Center
Developing linguistic and intercultural skills
The PSL Language Center offers a shared program accessible to students across all PSL institutions. It strengthens language and intercultural competencies through:
- 14 languages and cultures taught
- Courses aligned with CEFR levels (A1 to C1)
- Offer tailored to scientific and engineering profiles
- Courses delivered on the Mines Paris – PSL campus

Scholarships and financial aid
Supporting study pathways in France
Financial support schemes are available to international students throughout their studies, aimed at improving access to education and living conditions in France.
Excellence scholarships (including France Excellence Eiffel)
These scholarships support high-achieving students and may fully or partially fund studies in France. The France Excellence Eiffel program is one of the main schemes.
Fondation Mines Paris scholarships
Each year, the Fondation Mines Paris awards scholarships to admitted international students, particularly those with financial needs or strong academic profiles.
Home-country and bilateral funding
Many students receive funding from their home countries or through bilateral cooperation programs between governments and institutions.
Academic or industry partnerships
Some mobility schemes are supported by academic partners or industry stakeholders, depending on specific cooperation agreements.
Application process
Applications via home universities
Exchange applications to Mines Paris – PSL must be submitted through the student’s home university as part of a nomination and pre-selection process. Once nominated, students complete the online application form according to the following deadlines:
- April 30: first semester or full-year exchange
- October 31: second semester exchange
Only officially nominated applications are reviewed. Successful candidates receive confirmation along with administrative and arrival information.
The nomination and application campaign dates are communicated directly to the relevant partners.

Dedicated support for settling in Paris
The PSL Welcome Desk supports international students with administrative procedures and integration in France. It also provides resources and events to ease arrival and adaptation.
Support includes:

“Bienvenue en France” label
Recognition of the quality of student international reception
Mines Paris – PSL holds the “Bienvenue en France” label awarded by Campus France.
This certification recognizes the quality of services offered to international students, particularly in terms of information, administrative support, and integration into academic and student life. It is part of a national effort to strengthen the attractiveness of French higher education.
