Become an Expert in Energy Transition Through Complex Systems Optimization

The MS OSE: A Key Driver for Supporting the Energy Transition and Training Professionals to Meet Its Challenges”

The Specialized Master in Energy Systems Optimization (MS OSE) at Mines Paris – PSL is a pathway to excellence for those seeking to understand, design, and lead the energy projects of the future. Developed in partnership with CREDEN (Faculty of Economic Sciences of Montpellier I) and EDHEC Business School, this unique program has been directly connected to the strategic and industrial challenges of the energy sector for over 25 years.

At the core of a full-year immersion in the energy world, our program fosters a deep understanding of the technical, economic, environmental, and legal dimensions shaping energy systems. The MS OSE’s distinctive approach relies on mathematical optimization and foresight methods, essential for analyzing the energy transition, anticipating market shifts, and proposing robust, innovative solutions.

Our goal is to train experts who can integrate climate challenges, technological innovations, and economic constraints. This interdisciplinary focus—the program’s hallmark—prepares students to tackle complex issues and take on leadership roles across sectors involved in energy project design, financing, and deployment.

The program, funded through apprenticeship, takes place in Sophia Antipolis for the first six months (with three 15-day company placements every five weeks), followed by six months of full-time work experience, ensuring rapid and sustainable professional integration. Through this alternating structure, students gain firsthand industry insights and develop in-demand expertise valued by energy sector stakeholders.
