Grants and support for incoming mobility
Foreign students admitted to Mines Paris – PSL are eligible for scholarships and financial aid within the limits of the funds available for this purpose.
France Excellence Eiffel Scholarships
Every year, Mines Paris – PSL nominates international students ranked among the top 10% of their class for this program. This scholarship includes a monthly stipend of €1,181 for master’s students, a round-trip plane ticket, and supplemental health insurance (mutuelle).
Mines Paris Foundation
Each year, the Mines Paris Foundation offers around ten scholarships to international students admitted to the civil engineering program on the basis of their academic qualifications. These scholarships include a monthly stipend of €700 during the months of study (excluding internships).
Scholarships from the country of origin
Many countries offer scholarships and international mobility grants to their citizens:
- Erasmus (if the home university is a European university that is a partner of Mines Paris – PSL)
- ARFITEC (Argentina)
- BRAFITEC (Brazil)
- Becas Chile, CSC Scholarship (China)
- Jovenos Ingenieros (Colombia)
- MEXFITEC (Mexico)
Corporate scholarships
Mines Paris – PSL has close ties with industry, and scholarships may be awarded to international students admitted to the school. Eligibility criteria and scholarship conditions vary depending on the program.
Practical information
Before arriving in France
Visa
Visa application procedures vary depending on the student’s country of origin. We recommend that you contact the French Embassy or Consulate in your country of origin at least three months before your departure for France to find out about the visa application procedure and the fees involved.
Procedures for obtaining a residence permit are handled by the school’s admissions department upon the student’s arrival.

Insurance
Health insurance is mandatory. All students must provide proof of health insurance coverage for the duration of their stay at Mines Paris – PSL (European Health Insurance Card, etc.). Health insurance (social security) is free in France for all students. Registration is free and can be done online. International students must also take out civil liability insurance for physical and/or material damage caused by students. This insurance is provided by Mines Paris – PSL.
Accommodation
For dual degree students: students admitted to the master’s level of the civil engineering program will be assigned a room at the “Maison des Mines” student residence, located less than a 10-minute walk from Mines Paris – PSL. Rent is €200 to €500 per month, plus a two-month security deposit.
For exchange students: exchange students and visiting students can apply for a room at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.
Upon arrival in France
Information meetings
International students admitted to the engineering program on the basis of their qualifications: a welcome and information meeting (covering the course structure, administrative procedures, setting up an IT account, etc.) is organized in early September for all second-year students.
Visiting international students: a welcome and information meeting (course structure, administrative procedures, IT account management, etc.) is organized for international students before the start of classes.
The student union (BDE) and ASTI organize welcome and mentoring activities for students joining the school in September.
Administrative procedures
The Academic Affairs Office and the International Relations Office at Mines Paris – PSL assist international students with the administrative procedures they need to complete upon arrival at the school (enrollment at Mines Paris – PSL, application for a long-stay student visa, scholarship application, etc.).
