From Monday, July 6, to Friday, July 10, 2026, Mines Paris – PSL is hosting an immersive summer camp at its Fontainebleau campus for eighth-grade students.

A Scientific and Artistic Immersion in Fontainebleau

Designed as an introductory immersion into the world of science and technology, this week-long program explores the connections between science, digital fabrication, and music creation.

Primarily intended for students from REP and REP+ middle schools in southern Seine-et-Marne and the Créteil school district, this camp promotes social and cultural inclusion by offering a hands-on, collaborative, and stimulating experience.

Through a playful approach in small groups, participants are invited to experiment, test, and build, while discovering the connection between science and the arts and designing a mini-musical performance centered on a female scientist.

A program for experimentation and creation

Code • Make • Sing

This summer camp is based on active learning, centered on hands-on practice, experimentation, and artistic creation. The goal is to introduce science in a new way, particularly by exploring the connections between technology and music.

Over the course of the week, participants will:

  • Discover digital fabrication machines
  • Program using Scratch and Micro:bit
  • Design and create technical objects using 3D printing and laser engraving
  • Experiment in teams and collaborate on concrete projects
  • Incorporate a musical dimension into their technological creations

Supervised by PhD students, researchers, and makers from FabLab Moebius, as well as facilitators and musicians, participants benefit from a stimulating environment conducive to discovery, initiative, and interdisciplinary creativity.

Activities Offered

The program consists of several complementary workshops:

Exploring Careers in Science and Innovation

Beyond technical and musical activities, this summer camp offers a genuine opportunity to explore scientific careers and engineering programs.

Participants explore the various skills and careers related to technology, coding, digital fabrication, and music creation. The goal is to break down stereotypes, inspire career interests, and encourage students to consider pursuing scientific or technical studies.

A group project showcased at the end of the week

The week concludes with a presentation of the projects completed.

Each participant leaves with an object designed and made during the program, a tangible testament to the skills acquired. At the same time, a group musical performance is presented, showcasing the teamwork and creativity developed throughout the workshops.

No technical prerequisites are required. Participation is based above all on curiosity, a desire to learn, and a passion for collective creation!
