Biography
Pierre-Olivier Bouchard is a researcher specializing in the numerical modeling of material forming processes and the study of ductile fracture mechanisms. His work focuses on developing advanced methods to simulate complex phenomena such as delamination in photovoltaic modules, incremental forming processes like *flow forming* or *spinning*, and the damage-to-fracture transition in metallic materials. His expertise includes the use of innovative numerical models, such as *phase-field* approaches coupled with adaptive remeshing techniques, to predict crack initiation and propagation in industrial contexts. His research also addresses the influence of thermomechanical parameters—such as thermal expansion effects and aging cycles—on structural reliability. Pierre-Olivier Bouchard thus contributes to the optimization of manufacturing processes by integrating robust and accurate simulation tools tailored to the challenges of modern materials.
