Biography

Nadia Maïzi is a researcher specializing in the prospective modeling of energy systems and the transition to low-carbon economies. Her work focuses on the techno-economic optimization of energy trajectories, incorporating technical, geographic, and environmental constraints. She has contributed to the development and application of bottom-up models, notably the TIMES model, to analyze decarbonization scenarios at various scales, from the local level (islands, regions) to the national level (France, Algeria) and the regional level (MENA). Her research addresses issues such as the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources, the deployment of technologies such as hydrogen or power-to-gas, and the evaluation of public policies on climate and energy. His expertise also extends to the analysis of socioeconomic dynamics and resilience strategies in the face of the challenges posed by the energy transition, particularly in contexts vulnerable to fluctuations in the hydrocarbon markets.
