Biography
Katia Mocellin is a researcher specializing in the numerical modeling of material forming processes, with particular expertise in incremental deformation processes and tool-workpiece interactions. Her work focuses on optimizing finite element simulations for processes such as flow forming, cross-rolling, and resistance welding, incorporating multiphysical approaches (mechanical, thermal, and electrical). In particular, she explores challenges related to local contacts, inertial effects, and material behavior under complex stresses, such as in the case of high-strength alloys or superalloys. Her approach combines methodological development (reducing computation times, model calibration) and experimental validation, aiming to improve the accuracy of predictions while keeping computational costs under control.
