Biography

Kais Ammar is a researcher specializing in the mechanical and microstructural modeling of materials, with particular expertise in crystalline plasticity, the behavior of metal coatings, and multiphysical coupling. His work focuses on the development of advanced constitutive models to describe large-scale deformations, incorporating thermodynamically consistent approaches such as the multiplicative decomposition of the strain gradient or the use of isocline intermediate configurations. He also explores deformation and damage mechanisms in metallic coatings, particularly zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloys, by combining in situ experimental techniques (SEM, EBSD, digital image correlation) with finite element numerical simulations. His research addresses industrial challenges, such as corrosion, material fatigue, and the optimization of rapid solidification processes, while contributing to the improvement of commercial simulation tools through the integration of innovative models (intermittent plasticity, size effects, and chemomechanical coupling).
