Biography
Jérôme Corvisier is a researcher specializing in fluid-rock interactions and the geochemical processes associated with geological storage contexts, particularly for CO₂ and radioactive waste. His work focuses on the numerical modeling of hydrogeochemical reactions, multiphase reactive transport, and thermodynamic equilibria in porous media. His research covers topics such as the integrity of caprocks, the durability of cementitious materials under sulfate attack, and the impact of impurities co-injected with CO₂ on the reactivity of geological reservoirs. Using tools such as the HYTEC reactive transport code, he combines experimental approaches with numerical simulations to evaluate the mechanisms of dissolution, precipitation, and mineral alteration at different temporal and spatial scales. His contributions also include the development of thermodynamic models for water-gas-salt systems, which are essential for predicting fluid behavior under deep storage conditions.
