Biography

Caroline de Dieuleveult is a researcher specializing in the modeling of coupled reactive transport and environmental geochemistry processes, with particular expertise in the study of radionuclides and their behavior in porous media. Her work focuses in particular on integrating radioactive decay chains into reactive transport codes, combining analytical and numerical approaches to overcome limitations related to element half-lives and chemical interactions. She has contributed to the development of robust methodologies, validated through test cases involving isotopes and sorption or precipitation reactions, under both equilibrium and kinetic conditions. Her research also extends to effluent decontamination, where she studies the properties of selective adsorbents, such as ferrocyanides supported on silica or zirconia, for the capture of cesium-137. This work includes thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of ion exchange, as well as its integration into geochemical simulation tools such as CHESS or HYTEC. Her approach combines laboratory experiments and numerical modeling to address challenges related to nuclear waste management and the protection of water resources.
