Through internships and work-study programs, students in the joint Mines Paris–PSL x Albert School degree programs apply their skills in data science, artificial intelligence, and management to real-world projects in the business world. From finance to industry, and from consulting to digital transformation, these professional experiences allow them to test their knowledge against real-world challenges and develop a dual set of scientific and managerial skills.

Learning in real-world settings

Combining science and management, and linking theoretical knowledge to the economic and technological challenges faced by businesses—that is the goal of the joint degree programs offered by Mines Paris – PSL and Albert School.

This approach places a central emphasis on professional experience. Internships allow students to explore a variety of work environments, contribute to operational projects, and deepen their skills by working alongside teams. At the master’s level, the work-study program reinforces this immersion by combining academic training with long-term corporate experience.

These experiences offer students the opportunity to apply their knowledge of mathematics, data science, and artificial intelligence, while developing their understanding of the management, financial, and strategic challenges faced by organizations.

Internships to explore a variety of careers

Starting in the Bachelor’s program, students can put their knowledge into practice at companies across a range of sectors and industries. The assignments they undertake include data analysis, consulting, finance, and transformation through artificial intelligence.

Throughout their studies, students have completed internships at leading companies. Madeleine, a Bachelor’s student (class of 2024), completed her internship in Investment & Systemic Research at Edmond de Rothschild. Among Bachelor’s students (class of 2025), Balthazar worked as a consultant at BNP Paribas, Lior as a data scientist at Generali, and Suzon in the field of AI-driven transformation at CMA CGM. On the master’s program side, Serban, a student in the International Master’s in Finance, Data & AI (class of 2025), completed his internship in credit risk modeling at UniCredit.

These career paths demonstrate the diversity of applications for the skills acquired during the program, in roles where data analysis and an understanding of business challenges complement one another.

Work-study programs: two years of hands-on experience in the business world

In the Data & AI master’s programs, work-study programs allow students to deepen this approach by combining coursework with professional experience. Students thus gain hands-on experience throughout their program while contributing to projects at their host companies.

The work-study program enables students in the Data & AI master’s programs to develop their skills throughout their studies by applying them to real-world business challenges. Jonathan, in the Business track (class of 2026), completed his work-study placement at Google as an EMEA SaaS Customer Engineer. Elisa, in the Finance track (class of 2025), served as a Partner Solutions Architect at Microsoft, while Benjamin, in the Business track (class of 2025), was a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon. Also in the Business track, Camilia and Sarah (class of 2026) worked as data analysts at Louis Vuitton and Dior, respectively. Finally, Côme, a student in the Sustainability track (class of 2025), contributed to L’Oréal’s work on the recyclability of packaging on a global scale.

From business intelligence to solutions architecture, data analysis, and sustainability challenges, these experiences cover a wide range of roles. They allow students to develop technical skills while gaining an understanding of the specific constraints and priorities of each organization.

Testimonials to understand the reality of these roles

Beyond job titles, the students’ experiences provide insight into how what they learn in the classroom translates to real-world business settings.

After joining Albert School when it opened in 2022 and earning his bachelor’s degree, Benjamin continued his studies in the Master’s program in Data for Business, working part-time at Amazon. There, he serves as a Business Intelligence Engineer on a team responsible for the strategic planning of the same-day delivery program across Europe.

During the Master’s Bootcamp, his team designed a compliance verification tool based on generative AI: a chatbot trained on European regulations, capable of assessing the level of compliance of a company’s internal policies. Today, Benjamin is developing an AI agent at Amazon, drawing on the practical experience he gained during his training. His career path highlights the connections between academic learning, experimentation, and the development of AI solutions in the corporate world.

Madeleine, who completed a six-month internship with the Systemic Regeneration team at Edmond de Rothschild, participated in systemic research and investment work focused on environmental issues. She was able to apply her knowledge of mathematics, data, and finance while deepening her understanding of the environmental challenges associated with investment decisions.

These two tracks offer a glimpse into the variety of assignments entrusted to students and the synergy between technical expertise, an understanding of client needs, and the ability to contribute to collaborative projects.

A curriculum focused on contemporary challenges

By combining scientific studies, data science, artificial intelligence, and management, the joint Mines Paris–PSL/Albert School degree programs prepare students to work at the intersection of technology and economic activity.

Internships and work-study programs are a key component of this educational approach: they allow students to apply the knowledge they’ve acquired, refine their career goals, and become familiar with the challenges faced by companies.
