Making AI a lever for sustainable performance
Making AI a lever for sustainable performance: three questions for Jean-Baptiste Bouzige, alumni of the School and co-founder of Ekimetrics
Winner of the “honorary prize” at the Prix Entrepreneuriat Mines Paris – PSL – TRANSVALOR 2025, Jean-Baptiste Bouzige (IC 01) looks back on the trajectory of a company born out of a conviction forged on the School’s benches: AI must be useful, controllable, and economically relevant.
He also emphasizes the importance of training engineers capable of governing, evaluating, and structuring AI beyond its technological dimension alone.
Founded in 2006, Ekimetrics is now a pioneering scale-up in data science applied to critical business challenges. With 200 clients in 50 countries, more than 2,000 AI solutions deployed, and an ambition to reach 1,500 employees by 2028, the company is establishing itself as a global player combining digital transformation with economic, operational, and environmental impact. The company addresses strategic issues (sales performance, operations, maintenance, customization, sustainability) with one requirement: solutions that are adopted, monitored, and evaluated over time.
This “honorary award” recognizes a structured entrepreneurial model that combines growth, profitability, and contribution to industrial and environmental transformation.
