EELISA
Mines Paris–PSL, Chimie ParisTech–PSL, ESPCI Paris–PSL, and other PSL institutions are actively involved in building the European university EELISA, an initiative that is reinventing the model for engineering education in Europe.
The European engineer of tomorrow
EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance) brings together nine higher education institutions in seven European countries, representing more than 180,000 students, 50,000 graduates per year, 16,000 professors, and 10,000 employees.
The goal: to train engineers capable of meeting the complex technical, societal, and environmental challenges of tomorrow. EELISA aims to create a common model for European engineers, combining scientific excellence, innovation, and social engagement.
A unique alliance
EELISA is the first European alliance combining engineering schools, technological universities, and comprehensive universities around a common project: to develop cross-border, multicultural engineering education that is integrated into society and the European market.
A historical inspiration

The name EELISA pays tribute to Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu (1887–1973), one of the world’s first female engineers. Her multicultural, innovative, and committed career perfectly embodies the alliance’s values: scientific excellence, international openness, and social responsibility.
