Gender Equality Index
As part of its ongoing commitment to gender equality, Mines-Paris – PSL is publishing its Professional Equality Index. Under Law No. 2023-623 of July 19, 2023, aimed at strengthening women’s access to leadership roles in the civil service, provisions have been included in a new section titled “Elimination of the Gender Pay Gap.” As part of this, the law requires the annual publication of a professional equality index.
This index comprises three indicators
Calculated annually
- The overall gender pay gap for civil servants,
- The overall gender pay gap for contract employees,
- The number of public employees from the underrepresented gender among the 10 public employees with the highest salaries.
Each of the three indicators is associated with a point scale, and a score on a scale of 0 to 100 is assigned to each institution following the calculation of the three indicators. If the result is below the target score of 75/100 defined by decree, employers will then have three years to reach this target. Otherwise, they may be subject to a financial penalty of up to 1% of their total payroll.
Mines Paris – PSL has a designated contact person for gender equality. The School promotes professional equality between women and men for all its staff, as well as for its students. The liaison officer can be contacted regarding any issues related to gender equality, as well as discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
