Friday, October 18, 2024 marks the 8th edition of the Prix Laffitte

The 8th Prix Pierre Laffitte will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Mines Paris – PSL Campus in Sophia Antipolis. The prize is awarded to doctoral students in the second year of their thesis.

 

Jean LEONETTI, President of CASA and Mayor of Antibes Juan-les-Pins, Jeanick BRISSWALTER, President of Université Côte d’Azur, Frédéric FONTANE, Director of Education at Mines Paris-PSL, Philippe MARIANI, Director of International Relations at Mines Paris – PSL and representative of Fondation Sophia Antipolis, and Elie HACHEM, Director of CEMEF Mines Paris – PSL and initiator of the Prize, will be in attendance.

The Pierre Laffitte Prize is supported by the SFA (Sciences Fondamentales et Appliquées) and STIC (Sciences et Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication) doctoral schools, theEUR SPECTRUM and the Université Côte d’Azur.

The prize was created in honor of Professor Pierre LAFFITTE, who headed the École des Mines Paris – PSL between 1972 and 1984, and was Senator for the Alpes-Maritimes from 1995 to 2008. His many innovations include the development of research partnerships with industry and the creation of the Sophia Antipolis technology park.
