Morning discussion on generative AI and organisations

Institutional
15 May

The morning session on generative AI and organisations will explore the current uses and transformations brought about by generative AI technologies in various professional sectors, as well as their impact on organisational practices and structures.

The aim of this morning is twofold: on the one hand, to give an account of the diversity of concrete applications of generative AI in different professional environments; on the other, to open up a critical reflection on the organisational and human dynamics that these technologies engender. The aim is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue between researchers and practitioners on the real uses, the technological imaginations and the sometimes unexpected consequences of these innovations.

Programme

The first part will take the form of a round table, bringing together three professionals from a variety of sectors. Each will present the uses of generative AI in their field and the effects observed on their organisation:

Conor E. Doherty, Communications Director at Lokad, a company specialising in supply chain planning and optimisation. Kevin Gompertz, founder and director of the MAKE communications agency. Axel Mamou-Mami, founder and director of Rainer School, a training school for AI-enhanced administrative professions.

The second part will be devoted to a research conference given by Ida Schrøder, a member of the interdisciplinary group Algorithms, Data and Democracy (algorithms.dk). She will present the results of an ethnography carried out in a higher education establishment, highlighting the organisational transformations brought about by the introduction of generative AI tools.

The morning’s discussions will be in English.

This morning is open to all, subject to registration, in particular researchers, students, professionals and anyone interested in the organisational challenges of AI.

This morning is co-organised by Élise Berlinski (NEOMA Business School), with the support of the Unintended Consequences of AI and Data Science area of excellence, and Arthur Gaudron (Mines Paris – PSL).
