Educational games conference

On 15 and 16 May 2025, Marc Marti (Université Côte d’Azur) and Aurélien Portelli (Mines Paris – PSL) are organising a symposium on edutainment, which will be held at the Pierre Laffitte campus of Mines Paris – PSL.
Over the past twenty-five years, play has become a way of conceiving engagement in educational practices. This conference aims to examine the concept of engagement, both playful and educational, in order to better understand how it can be taken into account in the design and use of play in learning situations.
The thirteen papers (see attached programme) will be organised around three themes: discussing the definitions and dimensions of playful and educational engagement; questioning the uses of play; designing for engagement.
The conference will be open to the public. The papers can also be followed remotely via a Teams link. To obtain this link, please contact Marc Marti and Aurélien Portelli.
