19 March

The conference “Does artificial intelligence have a gender?” by Daphné Marnat co-founder of Unbias IA as part of the 5th edition of the UniCA Equality Weeks will take place at the Pierre Laffitte Campus of Mines Paris – PSL in Sophia Antipolis.

Theme:

Is AI biased? Doesn’t it risk amplifying our current problems of discrimination? Artificial intelligence models, like large language models, learn from corpora that carry an obsolete representation of the world, and contain numerous stereotypes that the models repeat and amplify. How can we detect and correct them? What impact does this have on us? Our career paths? The opportunities we are shown?

Thanks to her interdisciplinary expertise in social sciences and deep machine learning, anthropologist Daphné Marnat offers a unique insight into how implicit stereotypes and representations manifest themselves in algorithms and their implications for society. She also shares her vision of how organizations and men and women researchers and engineers can work together to create technologies with a positive impact.
