First day of classes for the inaugural class of the I-BE³ Bachelor’s program
The first class of the I-BE³ Bachelor’s program—the PSL International Bachelor of Environmentally Engaged Engineering—began the school year in Sophia Antipolis. Led by Mines Paris – PSL, this international science and engineering program prepares students to address environmental challenges through a project-based, hands-on learning approach. Applications to join the next class open on October 1, 2026.
The First Cohort of Students
In Sophia Antipolis, on the Pierre Laffitte campus of Mines Paris – PSL, the 33 students in the first cohort of the I-BE³ Bachelor’s program began the new academic year.
This orientation day gave them the opportunity to explore their new environment, meet the faculty and their classmates, and get their bearings in the program. The agenda included a campus tour, a presentation of the curriculum, icebreaker activities, and time for discussion.
This first cohort marks the launch of a new international PSL Bachelor’s degree in science and engineering.
A science program focused on environmental issues
Over the course of three years, the I-BE³ Bachelor’s program enables students to build a solid foundation in science and engineering while developing the skills needed to address major environmental challenges.
The program is based in particular on:
- Scientific and technological instruction
- Practical projects inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), each semester
- A teaching approach based on “learning by doing,” which places hands-on application at the heart of the learning process
- Personalized support through the CARE program
- An international environment that fosters openness to different cultures and approaches
Throughout their program, students are thus encouraged to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and gradually develop their scientific, technical, and cross-disciplinary skills.
