Since Donald Trump’s government came to power, American universities and scientific institutions have been subjected to an unprecedented offensive, amplifying pre-existing threats around the world. PSL University and its institutions are joining the Stand Up For Science movement and inviting all their academic, scientific, student and administrative communities to participate on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Attacks on research and higher education affect the entire knowledge value chain. Abruptly interrupting scientific work has lasting consequences for the scientific community and society as a whole. Threatening research weakens our collective ability to meet contemporary challenges.

Three key events to join the Stand Up for Science movement in Paris on April 3:

  • 12:00-15:00: Printemps des Sciences – Sciences dans la rue (Spring of Science – Science in the Street) At the Fontaine des Innocents, science mediation workshops, artistic performances and public debates will make science accessible to all.
  • 15:00-16:30: Public conference “Sciences attacked: what solidarity?” Organized at the Académie du Climat (located at 2 place Baudoyer, 75004 Paris), this conference will address the attacks on universities and research around the world and explore the forms of resistance and solidarity to be built.
