Biography
Romain Castellani is a researcher whose work focuses on complex fluid mechanics, material forming processes, and rheology applied to a variety of systems, ranging from polymers to colloidal suspensions. His research addresses both industrial and fundamental issues, such as heat transfer during film boiling, modeling viscoelastic behavior during polymer crystallization, and the optimization of processes such as 3D printing of polysaccharides for biomedical applications. He also explores the interactions between microstructure and rheological properties, particularly in the context of the extrusion of lignocellulosic fiber-based composites or the flow dynamics of non-Newtonian fluids. His approaches often combine innovative experimental methods (high-speed imaging, advanced rheometry) with multiphysics numerical simulations to validate phenomenological or predictive models.
