In the field of research, Mines Paris – PSL focuses on three essential missions: teaching through research, practical research and active collaboration with companies. To this end, the School offers permanent and fixed-term positions for young scientists and doctoral students.
A variety of jobs
Teaching and research activities involve several categories of staff:
- Teacher-researchers who are civil servants, recruited through competitive examinations based on qualifications, work experience, and interviews, in accordance with the status common to Écoles des mines (Decree No. 2007-468 of March 28, 2007).
- Contractual agents under public law (fixed-term or permanent contracts), recruited on the basis of degrees or equivalent qualifications, in accordance with Decree No. 2000-677 of July 18, 2000.
- Private-sector employees, recruited in particular by the ARMINES Association as part of joint research centers with the School.
- Engineers, technicians, and administrative staff contributing to scientific, educational, and operational activities.
- Internships are also offered throughout the year within research centers and departments.

PSL Internal School
Department dedicated to continuing and group training
Mines Paris – PSL provides access to the PSL Internal School, the continuing education program of PSL University. It is available to all staff (tenured or contract employees, teachers, teacher-researchers, researchers, administrative, technical, and library staff).
The courses cover the following topics, among others:

- Languages (English)
- Management and change management
- Preparation for civil service exams
- Communication and professional development
- Vocational training
- Health, safety, and prevention
- Quality of life at work and prevention of psychosocial risks
- Awareness of disability and gender equality
- Courses dedicated to teacher-researchers (pedagogy, digital tools, research promotion, management)
Erasmus+
Training program
The Erasmus+ program, an initiative of the European Union, supports both international mobility and skills development. Erasmus+ is therefore a lever for career development and international outreach for teams.
At Mines Paris – PSL, it allows staff to:

- Undertake teaching or training mobility placements at partner institutions in Europe.
- Develop their professional and language skills.
- Share practices and enrich academic cooperation.
- Contribute to structuring projects at the European level.
