Biography

Vandad Julien Rohani is a researcher specializing in plasma processes and their applications in energy conversion and materials science. His work focuses primarily on thermal plasma pyrolysis for the production of low-carbon-footprint hydrogen and the synthesis of high-value-added carbon-based materials, such as carbon black, nanotubes, and graphene. His research also explores the influence of operating conditions (temperature, pressure, and the nature of hydrocarbon precursors) on the yields, selectivity, and morphology of the products formed. Part of his work involves studying reaction mechanisms in the plasma phase, particularly plasma-molecule interactions, particle nucleation, and the growth of carbon-based structures. His recent work also addresses the integration of these processes into industrial settings, with a focus on energy optimization, arc stability, and scale-up criteria. At the same time, he is interested in the environmental applications of plasmas, such as the treatment of gaseous pollutants (H₂S, VOCs) or the recovery of CO₂ and CH₄ via plasma-catalytic processes.
