Biography
Abdelali Oudriss is a researcher specializing in the study of interactions between hydrogen and metallic materials, as well as the associated degradation mechanisms, such as hydrogen embrittlement. His work focuses primarily on analyzing the effects of hydrogen on the mechanical and microstructural properties of metals such as nickel, titanium, stainless steels, and superalloys, combining multiscale experimental approaches (nanoindentation, electron microscopy, spectroscopy) with theoretical modeling. His research has revealed competing mechanisms related to the presence of hydrogen—such as the hardening or softening of materials—depending on its concentration, its state (in solid solution or in the form of hydrides), and its interaction with crystalline defects (dislocations, grain boundaries, precipitates). At the same time, Abdelali Oudriss is interested in archaeometallurgy, particularly the characterization of the manufacturing and corrosion processes of ancient ferrous alloys, using advanced microstructural and chemical analysis techniques.
