Biography
Béatrice Cointe is a researcher whose work lies at the intersection of climate policy studies, carbon markets, and energy transitions. Her research explores the dynamics of co-construction between science, public policy, and economic actors, focusing in particular on scientific controversies and standardization mechanisms in voluntary carbon markets, especially in the field of “blue carbon.” She is also interested in integrated assessment models (IAMs) and their role in defining climate scenarios, as well as energy policy instruments—such as feed-in tariffs—and their impact on the emergence of new actors and markets. Her work takes a critical and interdisciplinary approach, combining the sociology of science, political economy, and the study of technological innovation to shed light on the tensions between climate objectives, territorial issues, and economic logic.
