Biography
Dimitri Chuard is a researcher specializing in high-energy astrophysics and the analysis of data from space observatories. His work focuses primarily on the study of X-ray sources, particularly through the analysis of catalogs produced by the XMM-Newton satellite, for which he has contributed to improving methods for detecting and characterizing celestial objects. His research also includes the analysis of X-ray variability in the galactic center, particularly reflection phenomena associated with past outbursts of the supermassive black hole Sagittarius A*. He is interested in the propagation mechanisms of these emissions and in modeling them to reconstruct the historical activity of astrophysical sources. In addition, Dimitri Chuard explores the interactions between ionizing radiation and biological tissues, notably in the context of studies on phosphenes induced by proton therapy, thereby combining astrophysics and medical biophysics.
