Summer Camp 2026: 100% girls and completely free : applications are now !
The focus on scientific fields begins in middle school and high school. With this in mind, Mines Paris – PSL is renewing its commitment to diversifying profiles by offering an immersion program for students in grades 9, 10, and 11.
Held on the Pierre Laffitte Campus, in the heart of the Sophia Antipolis technology park, the Summer Camp will welcome 30 participants for ten days of scientific experimentation, encounters, and discoveries.
The Low Tech Solar workshop offers participants the opportunity to work in teams on solar energy production and resource management solutions with a focus on autonomy and technological sobriety. Students will learn about energy, meteorology, and the design of simple, robust systems.
The Materials Engineering for Health workshop explores the role of materials in medical applications. Participants will develop an applied engineering project, discover the physical and chemical properties of materials, and learn about the steps involved in designing a solution for the healthcare sector.
The Modeling for Future Energy workshop introduces digital simulation and energy system optimization. Students design a model to analyze and improve the operation of solar power plants in relation to energy transition issues.
In addition to the workshops, the program includes visits to industrial and scientific sites, a cross-disciplinary project combining science and artistic creation, and group activities that promote exchange and cohesion. Accommodation is provided near the campus, at the Valbonne International Campus, to allow for complete immersion.
Completely free of charge (excluding transportation to the Antibes train station), the Summer Camp aims to remove material barriers and encourage young girls to consider scientific studies. Supervised by female researchers and engineers, participants discover the working methods and professional environments of science and engineering in a practical way.
By renewing this initiative, Mines Paris – PSL affirms its desire to contribute to greater diversity in scientific fields and to inspire vocations from the secondary school level.
