On Saturday, 17 May, as part of European Museum Night 2025, the École des Mines de Paris (Mines Paris – PSL) is offering free admission and an open house at its Mineralogy Museum. Book your time slot to attend this free national event (reservations available between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., doors close at 11:45 p.m.).
The Mineralogy Museum
In this prestigious civil engineering school, Mines Paris – PSL, also commonly known as the École des Mines de Paris, is home to the Mineralogy Museum, located on the second floor of the Duchesse Vendôme building. Preserved in the Hôtel de Vendôme for over 200 years, the mineralogical collections of the École des Mines de Paris are among the most comprehensive and spectacular in the world. They contain some 100,000 samples, 5,000 of which are on display in showcases: minerals, rocks, precious stones (including gems from the French Crown Jewels) and meteorites are exhibited in a 70-metre-long gallery of inestimable historical and heritage value.
