Biographie
Charles-André GANDIN est chercheur au CNRS spécialisé dans la modélisation de la solidification des alliages métalliques. Ses travaux portent sur les analyses thermomécaniques et microstructurales, notamment par le couplage d’approches telles que les Automates Cellulaires (CA) et les méthodes par Éléments Finis (FE). Il a contribué au développement de modèles prédictifs pour simuler la formation de la structure granulaire, les contraintes résiduelles et les distorsions dans des procédés comme la fusion laser sur lit de poudre (L-PBF), la fabrication additive par laser fil (WLAM), la coulée en lingot, la coulée continue, la coulée de précision, etc. Ses recherches abordent également l’influence des paramètres du procédé sur les propriétés mécaniques des matériaux, tels que les superalliages à base de nickel (alliages monocristallins) et les aciers inoxydables (316L), en intégrant des modèles de plasticité cristalline et des analyses multiéchelles. Ses travaux récents incluent la modélisation des transformations de phase hors équilibre et leurs conséquences sur la formation de défauts dans les microstructures de solidification.
