On Monday, April 27, we are organizing a workshop at Mines Paris – PSL on « AI for Forecasting, Operation & Planning of Power Systems »

This workshop will bring together professionals from utilities, technology providers, start-ups, research organizations, and policymakers to share insights and real-world experience. While AI offers powerful new capabilities, its application in mission-critical power systems also raises key questions around robustness, transparency, and integration. The workshop will open with a keynote on »The EU’s digital sovereignty strategy: policy initiatives for Energy and AI » by Hadrien Thebault, Policy officer at the European Commission. During the workshop, we will explore:

  • AI for weather modelling and forecasting
  • Renewable energy and demand forecasting
  • Applications in system operations (e.g. congestion management, reserves)
  • Emerging topics: foundation models and privacy-preserving data sharing
  • Perspectives on planning and investment in future power systems

The workshop is co-organized by Mines Paris – PSL, Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE), and the 𝗜𝗘𝗔 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 𝟱𝟭 & 𝟮𝟱/𝟲𝟯.

Please note that the workshop will be held in person only – no remote participation will be available.

Additionally, on the morning of Tuesday, April 28, we will host a joint meeting of IEA Wind Task 51 Forecasting and IEA Wind Task 25/63, open to registered participants. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the activities of these two international expert groups.

Join us in Paris to connect innovation with operational reality and help shape the next generation of AI-enabled energy systems.

The event is co-organised by:

Mines Paris-PSL, RTE, and the IEA Wind Tasks:
