Biographie
Siegfried Fouvry est un chercheur spécialisé dans l’étude des phénomènes de fretting (usure et fatigue par frottement), un domaine qu’il explore sous ses multiples facettes : mécanismes d’endommagement, modélisation prédictive et applications industrielles. Ses travaux s’articulent autour de trois thématiques centrales : l’usure par fretting (fretting wear), la fatigue induite par fretting (fretting fatigue) et la nucléation et propagation de fissures sous contraintes cycliques. Une attention particulière est portée aux matériaux métalliques critiques, notamment les alliages Ti-6Al-4V et les aciers inoxydables comme le 304L, souvent étudiés dans des environnements extrêmes (hydrogène sous pression, eau de mer, conditions thermomécaniques). Ses recherches intègrent une approche à la fois expérimentale et numérique, combinant caractérisations microstructurales (formation de third body, couches de transfert) et modélisations par éléments finis (FEM) pour prédire l’initiation et l’arrêt des fissures.
