Biographie
Laurent De Windt est un chercheur spécialisé dans l’étude des interactions géochimiques et des processus de transport réactif appliqués aux contextes environnementaux et industriels, notamment dans le domaine de la gestion des déchets radioactifs et de la dépollution des sites contaminés. Ses travaux se concentrent sur la modélisation des mécanismes de dégradation des matériaux, tels que les ciments et les aciers, en conditions extrêmes (températures élevées, milieux oxydants ou réducteurs, présence de contaminants métalliques). Il explore également les phénomènes de sorption et de précipitation minérale pour évaluer la mobilité des radionucléides ou des métaux lourds dans les aquifères et les sols, en intégrant des approches expérimentales et numériques. Son expertise inclut l’analyse des systèmes multiphasiques (eau-gaz-roche) et l’impact des perturbations géochimiques sur la durabilité des barrières ouvragées ou naturelles, contribuant ainsi à l’optimisation des stratégies de stockage ou de remédiation.
