Biographie
Jacques Besson est un chercheur spécialisé dans la mécanique des matériaux et la modélisation des phénomènes de rupture et d’endommagement. Ses travaux portent principalement sur l’étude des mécanismes de fracture ductile, l’influence de l’hydrogène sur les propriétés mécaniques des aciers, et le développement de modèles numériques avancés pour prédire le comportement des matériaux sous sollicitations complexes. Ses recherches intègrent des approches expérimentales, comme la tomographie aux rayons X et la fractographie, et des simulations par éléments finis, notamment via des modèles de type Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) étendus pour capturer les effets de triaxialité, de vitesse de déformation ou d’inhibition environnementale. Jacques Besson a également contribué à l’analyse des effets d’échelle, de l’anisotropie et des interactions microstructurales sur la résistance des matériaux, avec des applications dans les domaines de l’énergie, des transports et des réacteurs nucléaires.
