Biographie
Sandrine Berthon-Fabry est une chercheuse spécialisée dans les matériaux carbonés et les oxydes métalliques et leurs applications pour le stockage et la conversion de l’énergie. Ses travaux portent principalement sur la synthèse, la fonctionnalisation et l’optimisation de matériaux (nano)poreux, tels que ceux issus du sol-gel, pour des applications en électrochimie, notamment dans les batteries lithium-ion, les supercondensateurs et les piles à combustible. Elle explore les relations structure-propriétés de ces matériaux, en étudiant l’impact de paramètres de synthèse (comme le type de précurseurs, pH, le type de séchage, les cycles de pyrolyse ou l’ajout de dopants) sur leurs performances électrochimiques. Ses recherches incluent également l’intégration de ces matériaux dans des dispositifs énergétiques. Son expertise couvre aussi la modification chimique de surfaces carbonées, par exemple le greffage de groupes fonctionnels, pour améliorer leur stabilité et leur activité catalytique.
