Support a unique scientific and cultural heritage

Since the late 18th century, the collection of Mineralogy Museum of the Paris School of Mines has continuously grown thanks to the passion of researchers, collectors, and the generosity of its donors.
Today, you can actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of this scientific heritage.

Why donate?

Housed in the Hôtel de Vendôme since 1815, the Museum preserves over 100,000 specimens: minerals, gems, rocks, meteorites, and more. Among them are exceptional, rare, and unique pieces.

Your donation helps to:

  • Preserve and restore the collections
  • Enrich the collection with new specimens
  • Support permanent and temporary exhibitions
  • Develop educational and outreach programs
  • Promote scientific research in geosciences and materials

A secure online form is provided by the Mines Paris Foundation. On the “Make an online donation” page, specify in the “Comments” field: “Donation earmarked for the Mineralogy Museum“.

Fiscal advantages

If you are an individual:

  • Income tax: 66% of your donation is tax-deductible (up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income).
    → Example: a €500 donation will cost you €170 after tax deduction.
  • Real estate wealth tax (IFI): 75% of your donation is tax-deductible (capped at €50,000).
    → Example: a €2,000 donation will cost you €500.

The Foundation is also authorized to receive temporary usufruct donations, gifts, and bequests.

You are a company

You are eligible for a tax reduction of 60% of the amount of your donation, up to a limit of 0.5% of your turnover (article 238 bis of the French General Tax Code).


Physical donations: minerals, gems, meteorites

Do you own one or more specimens and wish to donate them to the Museum?

We are primarily seeking:

  • Mineral species not currently displayed in our showcases
  • Rare geographical varieties
  • Superior quality specimens or specimens of scientific value
  • Reference specimens useful for educational and scientific research
