The Musée de Minéralogie Mines Paris – PSL and the Fonds de Dotation Verrecchia are delighted to announce the opening of the exhibition « Romance in the stone: from rock to work ». This exceptional exhibition will be held from October 23 to December 14, 2024 and offers a dialogue between contemporary artistic creations and the museum’s exceptional mineral collection. Preserved in its historical setting of the 19th century, the museum enriches each year its program of temporary exhibitions that take a scientific, cultural, artistic contemporary look on the mineral kingdom.

The exhibition « Romance in the Stone: from rock to work » brings together artists who have won the Matière(s) Grant of the Verrecchia Endowment Fund, whose work resonates directly with the museum’s mineral collection (colors, shapes, materiality). Through their singular languages, the creative and narrative potentialities of this raw and complex material are revealed as much as its narrative and emotional power.
