Sophia Antipolis Campus

In 1969, Pierre Laffitte, director of the École des Mines, founded Sophia Antipolis. A few years later, he established the campus that now bears his name. Fifty years later, the Côte d’Azur technology park ranks first in Europe, and the campus serves as a central hub for education and collaborative research.

Set on nearly 10 hectares of grounds, the Pierre Laffitte Campus is home to five research centers and one institute dedicated to climate and energy issues. Several of Mines Paris – PSL’s flagship programs are offered there, including bachelor’s degrees, civil engineering programs, specialized master’s degrees, and doctoral programs. More than 500 people work and study there each year.

The campus is part of a development initiative aimed at strengthening its educational and research capabilities by 2030, in line with the region’s needs for scientific and technical expertise and the ongoing transitions.

With a firm focus on the future, the development of the Pierre Laffitte Campus builds on its historical momentum, with the goal of strengthening the integration between education, research, and the local economic ecosystem, within an increasingly structured campus.
