The PEPITe Chair was created to address two urgent and interconnected challenges: ecological transition and industrial renewal. These transitions cannot be considered in isolation; they require territorial strategies that mobilize local resources, skills, and governance.

The Chair’s mission is to bridge the gap between research and action, providing decision-makers with the tools they need to design and implement effective policies.

The PEPITe Chair’s work is organized around four core research axes, designed to generate actionable insights:

Research Axis

| Key Focus

| Example Projects

| Territorial ecological transitions

| Analyzing local dynamics in renewable energy, circular economy, and industrial ecology.

| Mapping transition pathways, evaluating local policies for energy sobriety.

| Industry and productive bifurcations

| Studying how business networks and clusters drive green innovation.

| Assessing synergies between SMEs and large groups to develop low-carbon technologies.

| Geography of innovation

| Identifying regions with the highest potential for green innovation.

| Evaluating the innovation potential of industrial basins, analyzing local ecosystems.

| Financing the ecological transition

| Exploring funding mechanisms (public-private partnerships, public subsidies, targetted fundings) to mobilize capital for local projects.

| Studying incentives to attract investment in renewable energy and circular economy.

| The Chair also produces policy briefs, training programs, and territorial diagnostics, ensuring that research translates into practical solutions for territories, businesses, and public authorities.
