Sven Heim is associate professor of economics at Mines Paris – PSL University, research associate at Leibniz Center for European Economic Research Mannheim (ZEW), research affiliate at Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). His areas of research encompasses the fields of environmental economics and energy economics, antitrust and competition economics as well as information economics. Specific topics he studies, among others, are competitive and innovative effects of structural links between firms (minority shareholdings), the efficiency of European state aid, the promotion and acceptance and of renewable energies as well as the effects of information on consumer behavior and firm strategies.

He frequently advises institutions and ministries like the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and serves as court expert in antitrust cases.
