Philippe Mustar
Professor of Entrepreneurship, Mines Paris – PSL

Philippe Mustar is Professor of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Public Policy. His research has focused on a) the evaluation and management of research and technology, b) public policy in research and technology, and c) entrepreneurship (academic spin-off firms, and creation of start-ups by students and young graduates, research areas in which he has been one of the pioneers in Europe). In these areas, he has published a dozen books and over seventy articles in peer-reviewed journals or academic books. He has also been awarded numerous research contracts, notably at European level. Within the etilab Chair, his on-going research interests are about entrepreneurial ETIs. He was a member of the Editorial Board of Research Policy and of Technovation, and Visiting Fellow at Imperial College Business School. Philippe created and teaches entrepreneurship courses at Mines Paris – PSL: the Entrepreneurship Week (1st year students), the Entrepreneurship Trimester (2nd year) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship option (3rd year). Some forty companies have been set up by his students.
Philippe created and runs the Prix Entrepreneuriat Mines Paris – PSL. He advises start-ups and governments and is an OECD expert in innovation and entrepreneurship policy.
